Printer speed is a simple measure of how fast the printer can print the pages. It is measured by a metrics called “Pages per minutes”. More PPM means faster printer. Due to the nature of technologies laser printer are very fast, with high PPM compared to Inkjet printer.
Printer speed is a Duplexing means the ability to print both side of paper. This is must feature in offices, or if your printer usage is high. This is eco friendly feature as well. Say you want to print 100 pages document. Printer with duplexing feature takes only 50 papers to printer whereas the printer without duplexing feature required around 100 pages to print the same. If you would like to printer both side for a printer without duplexing feature, you have to turn the paper and feed it back to the printer for every page, making it almost impossible to do the job.
There are two types of the trays, input trays and output trays. The default size is 100 pages. Say the input tray can hold 100 pages, you put the papers in the tray and needs to refill once the tray is empty. In general, smaller tray means more frequent refills. If your printing needs are higher, then make sure the tray size is large enough to hold all the papers.
Resolution is measure of the quality of printing. High resolution means very clear and bright document. Resolution is measured in terms of dots per inch. More dots per inch means high resolution. The dots are measured both horizontally and vertically. Say one printer has 700 * 700 dpi, it means there are 700 dots vertically and horizontally in one inch size. The high resolution have more dots, at the same time consumes more ink or toner. Because of this reason in the offices the resolution is set to medium value by default. If the letters of the document are too small then you can increase the resolution to make it more clear.
