Two characteristics of energy efficient room heaters

  • Electricity or power consumption is calculated on the basis of how many watts it consume. Higher watts consumption means higher electricity bill. Carefully pick the room heater with lower watts consumption. Power consumption will be written in the room heater specification.
  • In case you want to use all night long, make sure it has advanced features like thermostat or timer. With the help of thermostat you can configure such that room heater stops when it reaches some degree of temperature. Fan heaters with 2,000 watts consumption room heaters are monsters. They consume so much electricity and it will costs a fortune to run. Air is passed through the hot ceramic coil and pushed out with the help of fan. It is just hot air. So if you switch it off after some time, within half hour your room once again gets hot. Avoid these convection room heaters as much as possible.
